Stephen Haas is a founding member of GSTJ LLC and a central figure on the firm’s defense side. His work brings federal program experience into the way GSTJ approaches critical infrastructure, procurement, and mission requirements. Defense-related power and equipment work operates within defined customer, contracting, documentation, and execution environments. Haas helps keep those operating conditions visible as the firm evaluates where turbine, generation, and resilience capabilities may support government and defense-sector needs.
Before GSTJ, Haas worked as a consultant at Deloitte in Government and Public Services. His federal client experience included work involving NASA and the Internal Revenue Service. The significance of that background is procedural as much as sector-specific: federal programs require attention to scope, stakeholders, performance expectations, communications, and the administrative structures that surround delivery. At GSTJ, he applies that experience to the defense-sector programs and federal contracting context described by the firm.
His role complements GSTJ’s equipment and transaction capabilities. A generation asset may have compelling technical characteristics, but mission use also depends on site conditions, procurement pathways, operating responsibilities, schedule, and the needs of the government or defense counterparty. Haas contributes the program perspective that helps connect those dimensions. As a founding member, he also supports the firm’s broader effort to build a durable platform across defense, energy, and data-center infrastructure. The objective is to approach mission-related work with the same discipline applied to other physical assets: understand the requirement, identify the responsible parties, document the path to execution, and keep the proposed solution aligned with the program it is intended to support.
