Thomas Zickell

Thomas Zickell is Chief Executive Officer of GSTJ LLC and a cofounder of the firm. He originates and invests across three connected sectors: defense, energy, and data-center infrastructure. His work is centered on the physical equipment and project relationships that determine whether power capacity can move from an idea to an operating asset. That mandate includes gas-turbine acquisition, refurbishment, and resale across aeroderivative packages and heavy-duty frame machines, together with the broader generation assets on which data-center development depends.

Zickell also serves as Chairman of Data Power Investments, a closed-end turbine acquisition fund. Within that role, the focus remains on identifying equipment positions, understanding the technical and commercial work required to make them useful, and connecting assets with buyers, operators, and projects that have a defined need. The relationship between GSTJ LLC and Data Power Investments reflects the same operating thesis: turbine value depends on provenance, condition, configuration, documentation, service requirements, and a credible path to deployment—not on nameplate capacity alone.

A chemical engineer by training, Zickell holds a granted United States patent arising from his engineering work. He serves on the advisory boards of StratGrid Inc. and Jassby Inc. and is the founder of Blueprint Marketing. Those roles sit alongside his work at GSTJ, where the objective is deliberately ambitious: to build the largest turbine sales and service company in the world. The firm’s approach follows from that objective by treating equipment origination, technical diligence, transaction execution, and long-term market relationships as parts of one operating platform.
